TO RECEIVE THE BLESSINGS PROMISED HERE

Vs

By the rivers of Babylon, There we sat down, yea, we wept when we remembered Zion.

We hung our harps upon the willows in the midst of it.

Those who carried us away required of us a song, and those who plundered us requested mirth,

Saying, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”

Ch

How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a foreign land?

If I forget you, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget its skill !

If I do not remember you, Let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth—

If I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy.

Psalm of the Week

Psalm 137

Israel had been conquered by her enemies and carried into

Babylon as slaves. Their captors asked them to sing “the

songs of Zion” which were famous throughout the land as

the songs that brought victory to Gods' people.

David had to force Himself to praise God

from this place of defeat....

We can never stop praising God for His promises....

ESPECIALLY WHEN THINGS ARE AT THEIR ABSOLUTE WORST….

YOUR PRAISE IS THE ONLY HOPE OF YOUR FAITH BRINGING GODS' VICTORY AGAIN

!
