Psalm 120 Plea for Relief from Bitter Foes

In my distress I cried to the Lord, and He heard me.

Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips and from a deceitful tongue.

What shall be given to you, or what shall be done to you, you false tongue?

Sharp arrows of the warrior, with coals of the broom tree!

The Psalms of Ascent

Psalms 120-134 are called “The Psalms of Ascent”.

One each of these Psalms was engraved on the steps of Solomons' Temple,

and carried an essential thought for preayer and meditation for the Hight Priest

(and for you and me) as we approach the presence of God.

I think it is the Lords' Timing that we pray these prayers, and think these thoughts

as we approach the Celebration of Passover this year.

God Bless You as you let the Holy Spirit minister to you in these Psalms.

WE MUST TAKE AN IMPORTANT NOTE HERE:

Gods' 1st Word on “approaching the presence of God”

is that “to approach God”

“we need to be delivered from the destruction

that comes from lying lips”.

FAILURE TO DEAL WITH “A DECEITUL TONGUE”

WILL ROB YOU OF “THE PEACE OF GOD”

AND ULTIMATELY FALL PREY TO YOUR ENEMIES.

ACCEPT THAT YOU WILL ENCOUNTER RESISTANCE

FROM YOUR FLESH and THE DEVIL

AS YOU CHOOSE TO APPROACH GODS' PRESENCE

....AND FIGHT ACCORDINGLY.

Ps 121 Will give us the “next step”

in approaching the Presence of God.
